Plantebranchen works for a more sustainable food system: A food system where we develop, produce and eat more green foods. The transition to a more plant-based diet benefits our health, our society and our climate. As a member of Plantebranchen, you contribute to accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable food system.
The entire plant-based value chain is represented at Plantebranchen. It is the country’s most progressive and future-oriented companies that actively push a greener production and consumption pattern. There is always room for more, because together we do it faster and better. At Plantebranchen, we believe in empowering our members to steer the course of the industry, ensuring that their voices and concerns shape our direction.
A membership of Plantebranchen creates mutual value. Achieving a successful transformation towards a sustainable food system necessitates that companies, regardless of their size, share responsibility and actively contribute to the industry.

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?
Plantebranchen is open to all companies that manufacture, import or market plant-based foods.
Companies with a plant-based and an animal product range can be admitted as members for the part of their turnover that can be regarded as plant-based – unless this proportion is minimal in relation to the company’s other food turnover.
Associations, institutions and companies with an interest in the purposes of Plantebranchen can be admitted as professional members.
PLANTEBRANCHEN HAS 3 TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

WHAT DOES A MEMBERSHIP COST?
An annual membership fee is calculated on the basis of the company’s turnover of plant-based foods in Denmark including export. Regardless of your company’s membership fee, all members of Plantebranchen democratically have one vote each.
Membership type 1
regular member
A regular membership is aimed at companies that produce, process, pack, market, prepare, serve or operate other forms of trade in plant-based foods. Primary producers, ingredient companies, processors, canteens and restaurants are all examples of regular members.
Do your company’s plant-based products fall within one or more of the following product categories?
- Beverages (beer, juice, juice, kombucha etc.)
- Fruit and vegetables
- Ready meals
- Ingredients
- Cereal (breakfast products, flour, pasta, etc.)
- Confectionery, ice cream and snacks
- Legumes, quinoa, etc.
- Plant- based meat (also tofu, tempeh etc.)
- Jam, spreads and dressing (also hummus etc.)
- Dairy (plant-based drink, butter, cheese, yoghurt etc.)
- Cold cuts (slices of cold cuts, cold cuts salad, pâté, etc.)
- Seaweed and algae

Price
The membership fee for an ordinary (a regular) member is calculated based on the company’s turnover of plant-based foods. See membership fees here.

Membership conditions appear in the articles of association. Please note that cancellation must be made with six months’ notice to the end of a calendar year.
Membership type 2
Professional member
As a professional member, you get access to a large network of stakeholders as well as the exclusive opportunity to market your activities relevant to the industry to Plantebranchen members. Our professional members are active and important partners who, through their services, can offer the other members targeted solutions of value for both parties.
A professional membership is aimed at companies, organizations and associations with an interest in the objectives of Plantebranchen. Current professional members include, among others, educational institutions, consulting companies, farmers’ associations, investment funds.
Price
All faculty members pay a fixed membership fee of DKK 15,000 annually.

As a professional member, you are an integral part of our community and enjoy membership benefits alongside regular members. However, professional members do not possess voting rights at the general assembly
Membership type 3
retail member
A retail membership targets – as indicated – the retail trade, which can support the aims of Plantebranchen. We welcome retail stores and chains that work actively to promote the plant-based agenda, and that make a special effort to push consumption in a more sustainable direction.
Price
All retail members pay a fixed subscription rate of DKK 15,000 annually.
